Course Overview

The course covers the maintenance and management of staff personal, professional and contractual data. You will be shown how to deal with new appointments and leavers, promotions and other data adjustments with a focus on data collected by the SWC, as well as links to the SIMS Finance module FMS.

The course will take approximately 3 hours to complete.



What will you learn?

This course will cover:

  • add new and edit existing personnel records
  • maintain pay and contract related data
  • maintain personnel data to support other areas of SIMS including pastoral structure, curriculum, FMS and statutory returns (including SWC)
  • produce standard reports for data checking purposes.

Will I get a certificate? 

On Completion of the course you can claim a School ICT certificate of course completion.

You will have a year to complete the course.

How do I purchase the course?

To purchase this course via your school/organisation you can pay by invoice. Please E-mail: t[email protected] specifying if you have a purchase order and which course(s) you wish to purchase.  We require the name and address of the person paying for the course. If you are in a school this may be your Finance department. If you are purchasing a course for another member of staff, we will also need their name for the certificate and their email address to enroll them on the course. The student will receive an email once the course is available to access.

To purchase this course privately you can pay by bank transfer. Please contact our Finance team on 0345 2226802 to make a bank transfer. The course will be accessible on receipt of payment. We need your full name and an email address to enroll you on the course.  

Terms of usage.

  • Courses will be accessible for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Once access has been granted to distance learning, no refund will be given.
